Music therapist

lopselislogo Music therapist evaluates child's musical, behavioral, communication, cognitive and motor skills. Applies musical education or musical therapy (with the help of special methods eliminates or diminishes disorders). Music therapist makes decision which method of therapy to choose considering child's age, level of development and general health condition, designs individualized educational/therapeutical programs, evaluates their efficiency and makes necessary corrections later.
Music therapist consults group's educators, parents, other members of staff working with children regarding development of children's musical skills. Musical therapist achieves his goal by using exciting, stimulating, sedative, emotional and functional effects of music. The goal of musical therapy is to help children or support them in effort: to adapt, to relieve pain or excitation, to stimulate psychomotor development.
In habilitation department music therapist provides services for children referred by doctors.
In the Nursery department music therapist evaluates each child, sets up musical education and music therapy programs, decides about need and frequency of individual and group sessions.
After child's evaluation music therapist discusses his condition as well as the need and benefits of musical therapy or education with specialists' team and parents (if child is inpatient) or with group's preceptors (if child lives in the Nursery Dept).
